ALBERT CITY FALL 2022 NEWSLETTER

It is once again time for our fall news letter.  We want to bring you some information for the coming months that you will find useful.

Please keep in mind when you are mowing, raking etc. do not place any leaves or grass out on the street as this can cause havoc with our storm sewer.  Keep in mind that if you do this you can receive a ticket for the violation.

As a reminder our snow ordinance is effect beginning November 1 thru March 31. There will be no parking on the streets from midnight until 6:00AM during this time whether there is snow or not.  You may get a ticket for this.  Please keep all sidewalks clear of snow too. Also, any snowmobilers need to remember to use the most direct route in and out of town.  No riding on city property or private property other than your own.

On November 7 (weather permitting) we will pick up branches for the last time this year.  Please remember to have your piles neatly laid out and no crotches in the branches.  If we spend more than 15 minutes at your home you will be billed at $80.00 an hour in quarter hour increments.

As a reminder you can pay your city water bill on line.  The URL for the site is:
https://otc.cdc.nicusa.com/p/iowa/City%20of%20Albert%20City/.  Keep in mind you will have until 11:59 PM on the 15th of the month to make a payment in a timely fashion. If it is posted later than this time on line it will be considered late.

September 9-11 for the fall cleanup.  This is a good way to get rid of junk you may have accumulated over the summer before winter approaches.  We will have some dumpsters staged between the post office and AC Salon on the vacated lot and labeled as to what items to place in each of them.  Please follow this closely.  This is not a place to get rid of regular garbage.  This is for junk only. This is for town residents only. PLEASE NOTE THIS YEAR WE WILL NOT ACCEPT TIRES, PAINT, BATTERIES, TELEVISIONS OR PROPANE TANKS.  PLEASE TAKE HEADE TO THESE RESTRICTED ITEMS. There will be surveillance cameras to prevent any illegal dumping.  If you are caught you will be fined. If you would like you can call Arny Grow at 712-260-0059 to rent a dumpster if that works better for you. Please keep in mind that once the clean up days are done the city will be addressing properties that are not in compliance with the city code regarding junk and junk vehicles and pursuing the matter further.

We want to remind all dog owners that when you are walking your dog, please clean up after them.  This too can result in a fine per our code.

We also want to bring to your attention if you have any used oil that you need to get rid of contact C & S Repair as they will take used oil.

Since Labor Day falls on Monday, September 5 our trash & recycle pickup will be on TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 6 INSTEAD OF MONDAY.  WE WILL RESUME OUR NORMAL TRASH & RECYCLE DAY AGAIN BEGINNING MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 12.
